Chris, Kelly, and Si-to-the-G-funk-Erra!

Hi all! It's been a while since I've posted....because we've had guests in town for 11 days straight! Whew! It's been sooooooo much fun!! We just dropped our last guest, Anya - our "Russian Princess" - off at the airport this afternoon. She's on her way back to Denver to give lots of hugs from us to our CO church family and our homegroup.

Before Anya, we hosted Stan's little sis, Kelly, and her husband Chris, from Monument, CO for a few days.... and then we had Sierra - one of the youth from the Littleton Vineyard (she and her fam are also in our homegroup in Littleton) - here for several days.

While Chris and Kelly were here....
-Kelly accompanied me to my doctor's appointment (just what you wanna do when you get off the plane in a new city - go to the doctor. :) ) while Chris checked on a job his company's finishing up in Topeka.

-We all had dinner over at Stan and Kelly's cousin Steve's place with his family... Awesome food, great fellowship with Steve and Jane.... It was so good to be with them.

-Kelly and I got in some good time at IHOP - Int'l House of Prayer.

-Chris, Kelly and I spent an afternoon swimming and just hanging out at some friends' pool (fun!!!)

-We had dinner at Plaza III Steakhouse on the Plaza... Plaza III lived up to its reputation as one of the 10 best steakhouses in the country. Yummy!! Can we say amazing steak and TIRIMASU??!! DeLISH!! :)

All in all, we had a great time with Chris and Kelly - totally loved having them here. Here are a couple of pics from our dinner at Plaza III:



Now for our time with Sierra. One of the highlights was our trip to the "taco bus" after church on Saturday night. A big group of us from our church fam here went down 12th Street a few blocks to grab some super-duper authentic Mexican tacos! The wait was LONG.... but it was so worth it! Yummy food, great hang-out time, and fun photo ops. :) Here are some pics from that evening:

While Sierra was here we got creative and came up with a way to play 3-person Pictionary... :) It was fun! Some seriously high-caliber artwork came out of those evenings....

We will be famous for these drawings one day.... Remember: You saw it here first. ;)

A few more things we did while Sierra was here:

-We spent some time LATE at night at IHOP... Really good time with the Lord.

-We ate some good ol' fashioned Kansas City BBQ!! Yummmmmmmy!!! Stan and Sierra each tried their first fried okra!! A southern delicacy!! MMMMM!!

-We explored the Plaza and checked out the Kansas City fountains.... Kansas City's nicknamed "The City of Fountains."

-We watched several chick flicks... :) Poor Stan.... ;)

-We spent an afternoon at the pool.

-We spent an afternoon recording a song Sierra wrote! It's really good!! :)

-We went to see Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants II!! Great movie!
