Christmas.... A Tali Update(!!).... and our new nephew is on his way!!!

Hello everyone!! Hope you all had an awesome Christmas. Stan and I had a great time with our Colorado family (Stan's parents, sister, bro-in-law, etc...) and got to see a few of our awesome friends. I realize now that pretty much all the pictures we took have our Tali-girl in them (soooo cute!) so we can't post them online!! :( But if you'd like to see them, drop me an email and I'll try to send you some.

I wanted to fill you guys in on some info that we found out today regarding Tali's case. I was talking with her caseworker today.... Apparently her birth mom got a call from a Missouri case worker who told her that MO does NOT want to take Tali's case!! (Tentative celebration!! WOOHOO!!) If Tali's case stays in KS, then for the duration of her time in foster care, she'll be in our home. The district attorney from MO still has to call the DA from KS to tell her that MO doesn't want the case... but based on the phone call Tali's mother received, it looks likely that they won't take the case.... which is awesome!!!

Also.... Tali's case worker told me a few things today, based on conversations with her birth mom, that make it sound likely that if Tali is with us for any length of time (6 months was mentioned as a possible time period) that her birth mom might seriously consider relinquishing her rights to Tali so that she can stay with us. (!!??!!) Her mom says she doesn't want to do anything that's not in Tali's best interest.... so she doesn't want Tali to get really attached to Stan and I and then take her away from us. Yes, she actually said that!! Holy cow. So there ya go.... we are blown away, excited, still tentative in our excitement....and trusting Jesus to move mountains on Tali's behalf, to do whatever's in her best interest. Okay, I'd be lying if I said I'm not kinda flipping out with excitement here!! :) (Her case worker also mentioned that her birth mom is not showing much motivation to get her legal issues dealt with...and that that alone will likely take her 6 months or more if she gets started now.)

Anyway... I'll keep you posted as we get more info... Thanks for praying and walking with us.

OH!! Gotta tell ya really quick! I got a call just a little bit ago that my sweet sis-in-law and my brother are on their way to the hospital in LABOR!! Yup!! I'm gonna be an aunt! I'm so excited! Our nephew's name is Will and we are soooooo excited to meet him! If you read this within the next little bit please pray for a safe labor and delivery for him and for Paige.

I'm sure I'll be posting pics of him soon! Yay for New Years babies!!! :)

Happy New Year everyone.... Love you guys!

Dana,
I'm not surprised, but won't stop praying until the final outcome. How can you not fall for her so deeply?
She is near to God's heart and ours!
