Here's a HUGE, GIGANTOID prayer request for you guys. Stan and I received a call this past Tuesday within about an hour of getting home from North Carolina (where we had been with my side of the family for Thanksgiving), about a 2-day-old baby girl who needed a foster home....After some (quick!) prayer and talking with Stan and with our family services worker, we said, "YES! We'll take her!" And so that evening, one week ago tonight, we welcomed little Tali into our home. We are soooooooo in love with this little girl!!! I SOOOOO wish we could post pictures, but because this is a public site, I can't really.... Just imagine a little olive-complected baby girl with the most black hair you've EVER seen on a baby.... She's absolutely beautiful. 9 days old today. Our goal has been to adopt since the beginning of our foster care journey when we started taking our classes in August. We never dreamed we'd have a possible opportunity to adopt SUCH a NEW baby!! I can't share a lot of the details of Tali's story, but there is a decent chance that we will be able to adopt her. Please pray for God to move, to intervene, to make a way if we are the forever family that He has chosen for Tali. Pray for our hearts as we wait to see what will happen with her case. Pray for God's hand to guide every single step, every single detail. We know, and are trusting Him, that He has a specific plan for Tali's life, and that Jesus can move mountains in order to see His will accomplished. We also are trusting Him with our hearts as we extravagantly love this precious little one, even in the midst of not knowing whether she will be ours permanently. Please, please pray for us, for her, for her birth mom, for all those involved in her case. We want her to be ours so badly (our hearts are totally on the line here), but even more, we want God to have HIS way, whatever that looks like. Pray, pray, pray, pray, pray....
In the meantime, we have a beautiful baby girl to parent! We are sleep deprived (me more so, but Stan too), but not as much as other new parents I've known. She is a great eater and a great sleeper and a great cuddler :), and all in all, just a perfect baby. She has such a sweet personality....we are enjoying watching who she is unfold little by little, day by day.
As soon as I feel like I can, I will post pics. In the meantime, we appreciate your prayers as often as you think of us and of her..... Thanks to all of you for your friendship and partnership in prayer....

I'm so happy for you guys!!! I'll be praying!!! Love you!!!
Hey Dana & Stan- this is AWESOME!!! What is Tali's ethnicity? What does the name Tali mean and where does it come from? I looked it up and only found the name Talia (which is Hebrew and means dew of heaven). I hope that the Lord makes things clear to you- I'm sure he will! Richest Blessings!! :)
