He Has Done Great Things...

WOW!! It's been a year already! 1 year and 1 hour ago, (7/21/07 @ 2pm) our wedding began. :) It was such a sweet, and FUNNY (Thanks to our dear, CRAZY pastor, Ian Prichard) time, and at the end of it, we were suddenly husband and wife!! :) It's been a very, very FULL year. Full of blessings, full of joy, of people that we love, of growing in love toward one another.... We've also had our share of hardship... health issues, the loss of two babies, the loss of my (Dana's) precious Grandma Agre... the leaving behind of our dear friends and family in Colorado.... Through all of it, God has been so, so good, and SO FAITHFUL to us...faithful to continue to draw our hearts closer to Himself and closer to one another. We are more in love with Jesus now than we were a year ago....and more in love with each other, too. Who would have known that marriage could be so amazing??!! Thank you Jesus for this gift..... we are so, so blessed.

To celebrate our anniversary, we spent this past weekend at a bed and breakfast in Plattesburg, MO - just under an hour north of Kansas City. It's in a beautiful, old home that was built in the late 1800's. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend: AMAZING breakfasts (courtesy of the Huffman family - owners of the bed and breakfast where we stayed), an awesome day relaxing at Smithville Lake, two very fun dates (We actually kinda dressed up, which we almost never do.... so it was special.), one to an Irish pub called O'Dowd's, and one to Bravo - an awesome Italian place. The food was great, and we loved the time just to enjoy one another's company. All in all, it was a sweet weekend... We were thankful for the opportunity to get away and enjoy one another.

The icing on the cake, is that Stan ended up getting today, Monday (our actual anniversary) off of work! He worked SUPER late on Thursday night (Friday morning, technically....) and so his boss gave him Friday and today off. So we hung out at Starbucks for a while this morning and have spent today relaxing and just being together. I LOVE it. :)
