July 4th pics, and the fids :)

So, July 4th was a fun day for us! We went to a potluck/pool party at the home of some friends' from church. We spent most of the time trying to play different card games with a 13-year-old boy from France whose English is VERY limited. It was an adventure. :) Very fun.

After that we went over to Stan's cousin Steve's place and grilled out with his family. YUMMY food, great conversation, sweet fellowship. We are so blessed to leave near Steve and Jane and fam. After dinner we went and saw fireworks, which I (Dana) probably loved more than the kids did! :) Anyway, here are couple pics of everyone from that night. The pics are kinda dark - my apologies. Top pic is of Steve and Jane, Jane's brother Joe and his son Matthew, Matthew's grandma Doris (COOL lady!), Steve and Jane's kids - Ryan, Michael, and Andrea - and then Ryan's friend Baxter. We had quite a crew! Bottom pic is Steve and Jane.

This morning Stan and I finally put Jules and Angel (Our FIDS - Feathered Kids) in the same cage. For the first few minutes, Angel was a little scared and therefore aggressive, but after 5 minutes or so she chilled out and they quickly became good friends. Or maybe boyfriend and girlfriend... We think Jules, who we HAD thought was a girl, might be a boy. :) Lol. Long story. But anyway, they're getting along great now. Here are a few pics:

One last thing: Tomorrow morning I fly out to California for the women's retreat with Women of the Harvest. (See "California" entry a couple of posts down.) I will be a gone a whole week! I will miss Stan SOOOO much but we both have prayed about it and feel like it's what God wants me to do... I'm excited and a tiny bit apprehensive about all of the details at the same time. If you pray for us, pray for our hearts while we are apart from each other, for my health (I went to the doctor for bronchitis AGAIN yesterday and am starting to get a bit better now...), for the strength of my voice, and that God will use me however He wants to over this week. Pray for the hearts of the missionary women who will attend - that God will encounter them powerfully and bring healing and refreshment and new life. Thanks everyone! Stan and I love you all a bunch!!
